The White House Historical Association has been manufacturing an annual ornament since 1981. Each year, a new design is created honoring the next President in succession. The 1998 White House Ornament highlights James Buchanan (1857-1861).The design includes a porcelain eagle, shield and cherry blossoms, which are highly recognized in the DC area.
