W&F Style Mortise Lock for Metal Sliding Patio Doors – Vertical Slot
This common mortise lock is designed for use with metal-framed sliding patio doors that follow the W&F style profile. The lock features a squared-off body with a flat mounting plate and installs using a 6-32 machine screw. Its faceplate has radius corners and round ends, presenting a clean and finished appearance.
The keyway slot is vertical when locked, making visual identification straightforward. This internal latch is intended primarily for metal and glass patio door systems. For wood or vinyl sliding doors, a different mortise lock (such as the 15142 with a 45-degree slot) is typically required.
Installation is made easier by the standardized screw hole spacing and compact lock body dimensions, ensuring compatibility with a range of metal sliding patio door systems. The lock’s backset and center-to-center screw hole measurement are industry-standard for many replacement applications, which assists with proper alignment and function during installation.
